Portal Hotel is designed around a single conviction: that every space a guest moves through should leave an impression. The lobby sets that standard immediately — a diamond-patterned marble floor in cream and dark brown runs beneath a brushed copper reception desk, while cylindrical brushed steel planters with lush greenery and deep burgundy lounge chairs create a considered residential-like composition. The warmth of the terracotta walls and recessed lighting make arrival feel like an event rather than a transaction.
The library and co-working space carries its own identity. A full-height shelving wall in dark timber with a bold wood grain pattern creates a rich material feature, while thin linear pendant lights hover above a long solid timber table. Cognac leather chairs on black metal frames complete a room between a private members club and a well-designed study. The same diamond marble floor connects it back to the lobby, giving the spaces a relationship without making them identical.

Guest rooms shift the register to something quieter. An olive green upholstered headboard framed in dark steel anchors the bedroom wall, with integrated dark timber side tables and warm reading lights on either side. A bold wood-grain panel beside the bed introduces pattern and depth without competing with the stillness the room is designed to hold.
Each room is finished to a standard where the details reveal themselves gradually — the kind of quality that guests feel before they consciously notice it.

The material palette at Portal Hotel is built on warm, deeply saturated tones that give each space its character. Terracotta and rust run across the walls as textured plaster finishes, shifting from warm amber in the morning to richer tones as evening falls. Copper and bronze appear in fixtures, hardware, and the brushed reception desk, reflecting the warmth of the surrounding surfaces back into the rooms.
Timber surfaces carry the same warmth in a different register. The dark timber shelving wall in the library features a bold, graphic grain, while guest rooms combine lighter timber millwork with dark steel frames and olive-green upholstery. The diamond-patterned marble floor in cream and dark brown runs through the public spaces, grounding the composition and balancing the softer furnishings.
Lighting forms the final layer. Recessed fixtures in the lobby and library cast warm, directional light that brings out the texture of timber, marble, and upholstery. In the guest rooms, integrated reading lights create a more intimate scale of illumination. The result is an interior where light and materials are designed together, each enhancing the other.
Portal Hotel's concept palette is built around confident, warm tones. Terracotta and rust form the foundation across textured plaster walls, shifting from warm amber to deep burnt orange as the light changes throughout the day. Timber appears in two registers: dark chocolate with a bold grain in the library, and lighter honey-toned millwork in the guest rooms, paired with dark steel and olive green upholstery. Copper and bronze accents carry through the public and private spaces, reflecting the warmth of the surrounding materials. Deep burgundy upholstery, cognac leather, and warm neutral carpets complete the palette, while selective greenery provides a cool natural counterpoint.
